Uplift – Croatia is discovered not only through its sea, towns and landscapes, but also through the food served at its tables. Uplift – Friend of Croatian Cuisine is Mastercard’s five-year initiative to document and preserve the dishes that best represent Croatia’s regions.
The first chapter presents six traditional Dalmatian dishes – from black risotto and brudet to pašticada – captured in video recipes you can recreate in your own kitchen. What makes these recipes authentic
The recipes were shaped by an expert working group bringing together some of Dalmatia’s leading culinary figures and internationally recognised ambassadors of Croatian cuisine. Together, they cooked, tested and agreed on the ingredients, techniques and preparation steps.
Each recipe was precisely documented to preserve the identity of Dalmatian cuisine while remaining practical for both professional and home cooking. In this way, knowledge passed down for generations through family kitchens, traditional taverns and restaurants is preserved and carried forward.
