Ètra is an intimate Italian restaurant in the heart of Los Angeles’ burgeoning Melrose Hill neighborhood. The name — an Italian portmanteau of È and Tra that translates to “in between” — captures the essence of the location, design and food. Tucked behind our sister spot Café Telegrama, Ètra’s vibey, mid-century modern interiors are juxtaposed by warm hospitality and a buzzy atmosphere. The menu celebrates an Italian simplicity that showcases California’s beautiful ingredients alongside subtle nods to other parts of the globe. Raised in Los Angeles, Executive Chef/Co-Owner Evan Algorri has traveled extensively through Italy (Venice, Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Sicily and more), so various regional traditions playfully weave into the progressive, yet approachable menu. Co-Owner Andrew Lawson curates an accessible, terroir-driven wine list focused on minimal intervention and unique varieties hailing from smaller producers throughout Italy, France and California.
