Curtis recorded victories at the 1988 and 1989 U.S. Open and in 1983 helped Team USA win the Ryder Cup; he was also the team captain in 2002. Curtis designed The Odyssey Golf Foundation course, which serves veterans, active military personnel, and children and adults with special needs. In 2007, Curtis was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
