Enter the behind-the-scenes world of the Metropolitan Opera and take in a coveted look at what it takes to make operatic magic during a 60-minute VIP backstage tour. Your guide will bring you to the Met's scenic and carpentry shops, rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms, and stage area. After the tour, you'll take part in an intimate 30-minute conversation with Stephanie Spangler, the Met's Director of Costumes, Wardrobe, Wigs, and Makeup—a unique opportunity available exclusively for this special tour. In each Met season, Spangler oversees the costume, wardrobe, and wigs and makeup teams for nearly 200 performances of 18 to 25 operas, which feature roughly 4,000 costumes. She also works with award-winning designers and directors to bring costume designs from concept to stage. Previously, she was the Met's Head of Wardrobe, overseeing a 40-person team responsible for dressing international opera stars and hundreds of performers in the company's iconic productions. - Experience is for a minimum of 2 people
- Cardholder and Cardholder's guest will need to sign a waiver
- Experience may be purchased by cardholders 18 years and older. Cardholders may purchase experience for guest under the age of 18. Cardholder's Guest must be at least 8 years or older
- Cardholder who purchases the Experience agrees that if any of the tickets purchased will apply to a child participant, such child participant will be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian to the venue and the parent or legal guardian will be entirely responsible for ensuring their child participant abides by the terms of use, the terms and conditions of the experience and any other requirements mandated by the venue
