You'll enjoy private round-trip transportation between the UNESCO World Heritage site of Oaxaca City and San Dionisio Ocotepec, where you'll visit the Santiago Méndez family, a traditional mezcal-producing household whose home and workspace are not typically open to the public. You'll go behind the scenes as you bask in the aroma of roasted magueys, see traditional clay stills, and gain insight into ancestral production practices before sampling an array of raw, small-batch mezcals unavailable for sale. Afterward, you'll indulge in a regional feast featuring seasonal, home-cooked delicacies, such as memelas with black beans and queso fresco, chicken or pork in mole, and sweet plantains. - Any dietary restrictions must be communicated at least 72 hours in advance of the experience date
- In the rare event that weather or road conditions make visiting San Dionisio unsafe, the experience will be rescheduled or refunded in full
- The pickup radius includes hotel pickup for all accommodations within the urban area of Oaxaca de Juárez, Santa Lucía del Camino, Tlalixtac de Cabrera, and El Tule. If the guest is staying outside this area (for example, in Etla or more remote zones), we can also coordinate pickup. with a small logistical and price adjustment if necessary
