Kitzbuehel Hahnenkamm-Rennen

The Hahnenkamm Race is a sporting event in alpine skiing that has been held on the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel since 1931. Since the introduction of the World Cup in 1967, the races have been held as part of this race series. The races are organised by the Kitzbühel Ski Club. The traditional winter sports club and the modern Kitzbühel Sports Club with its ski team merged to form the Ski Club. The Hahnenkamm Race originated from the tradition of the Franz Reisch Memorial Races and the fascination of the international Kandahar Races. When the Franz Reisch Memorial Race was held in Kitzbühel for the first time in January 1931, nobody could have guessed what a success story this association would become.
