Dieu Donné Vineyards

Dieu Donné literally means 'a gift from God – or God given.' This exquisite wine farm is situated high on the steep south-west facing slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains, taking advantage of a cool climate which combined with the rocky soils of weathered granite culminates in a unique terroir. In the cellar, Gregory Siebrits, who has been with Dieu Donné since 1998, crafts a collection of easy-drinking new world styled wines as well as old-world reds that stand up to other well-known wine regions, such as Bordeaux in France. Hennie du Toit, Dieu Donné's farm manager was born on the farm, once called Uitkyk, and has returned to what is his home. Visit this farm's tasting area adjacent to the restaurant or just enjoy a glass of wine on the upper terrace while soaking in the scenery. It's tempting to linger longer at the one of the five Maison Montagne Provençale Vineyard Suites. These individually styled vineyard suites feature superb comfort, sophistication and yet a relaxed feel.
