Teatrul Național "Vasile Alecsandri" Iași

Works on the new building of the first national theatre in Romania start in 1894 with the plans of famous viennese architects Fellner and Helmer which, until then, had already left their mark on 25 theatre halls in Europe. The outer structure with the classic portico, sculptures in alto-relievo and ionic columns shelter real treasures: sumptuous foyers, marble and mirrors, the performance hall of impressive beauty with 740 seats arranged in the lodge, stalls and a balcony, the royal staircase, the richness of the Rococo ornamentation and sculptural representations, the 1418 electric lamps and the impressive chandelier with 109 venetian glass light bulbs.
