Vergenoegd Löw Wine Estate

Vergenoegd Löw, a wine estate dating back to 1696, is set on the banks of the Eerste River with vistas of the splendid Cape mountains and the ocean while the estate sports manicured vineyards, water ponds, biodiverse wetlands, indigenous plants and a plethora of birds. The historic Manor House with its ring wall is a national monument and it's here you can enjoy a wine tasting. There are event venues and two Bertus Basson restaurants, not to mention the chic Boutique Hotel and Spa. This farm plants populates vineyards around the year according to the different cultivars and this results in a choice of wines. The Runner Duck Range pays tribute to the soldiers of the vineyards – a flock of 1 000 proud, upright Indian runner ducks that keep the vineyards pest free. The elegant, well-structured wines – a Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé and Red Blend – complement a wide range of food or social gatherings.
