Early in his career, Chef Roger Martinez worked in some of the finest restaurants in Barcelona including Talaia Mar and El Bulli with renowned Chef Ferran Adria. In 2005, he opened La Mifanera, with his wife Marta, specializing in rice from around the world. It was this restaurant that inspired his cookbook, La Cocina del Arroz. Roger and family moved to NYC in 2012, first working with Chef David Bouley before joining Donna at il Buco, where he's been Executive Chef for 9 years. When Donna met Roger, she knew she found the chef she was looking for; one who combined the rustic sensibility of Spain with the modern style of the Mediterranean kitchen that has been the hallmark of il Buco.
