Junibacken
The story of Junibacken starts with Astrid Lindgren. The first time she heard about the project she thought it was a nice idea and all that, but she didn't want to have anything to do with any kind of "Astrid Lindgren's house". A place where other authors of children's books and illustrators could be showcased and could inspire others, however, that was something else – that was fine. And that is how it turned out.
At Junibacken children and adults have the chance to experience a fantasy world together. The kind of magical moments that are difficult to describe in words but have huge significance for those who are there – that's what we give to you. Our tools are theatre, song, music and a large dollop of imagination and invention. Our aim: to awaken children's desire to read. This is a house full of experiences with a focus on children's literature. Our workplace is the magic between the pages. A warm welcome to a fun day at Junibacken!
