Pernille Harder

Pernille Harder is a Danish striker who plays for Chelsea Women’s FC. She also plays for the Danish national team, which she has captained since 2016, establishing herself as one of the world’s top footballer. When she played for Wolfsburg, she won back-to-back Bundesliga titles, finished as a runner up in the UEFA Champions League and won two (2) consecutive DFB-Pokals. She was the top scorer in Bundesliga for the 2017-18 season and is the first player to win the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year award twice in 2018 and 2020.

 

Harder had a remarkable debut season at Chelsea. She played a key role in the Blues' successes which included helping the Club lift the 2020/21 Barclays FA Women's Super League trophy and reach the Champions League final for the first time in Chelsea’s history. Harder played 37 out of 40 matches with 28 of them being starts and she found the back of the net 17 times being Chelsea third top scorer. The Danish player, who was outstanding throughout her European journey, was selected in the 2020/21 Women's Champions League squad of the season for the fifth consecutive time. 

 

Harder is undoubtedly a football role model for young fans on and off the pitch. She is involved in efforts to level out social inequalities and fight against discrimination in football. She donates 1% of their annual salary to Play Proud, an initiative that helps coaches and mentors to establish safe spaces and guides LGBTQ+ adolescents to participate in sports with confidence.
