THE DUKE Destillerie
Founded by Daniel Schönecker and Maximilian Schauerte in 2008, THE DUKE is Germany's first gin distillery. Today, the company has also made a name for itself internationally and produces fine gin and liqueurs at its historic distillery in Aschheim near Munich.
Juniper berries, which the organically certified company refines with a total of 13 selected herbs, are the main ingredient. The Munich Dry Gin, produced in a copper still following an ages-old tradition, obtains its special flavor through the addition of the important beer ingredients hops and malt. "This gives the gin a lovely mellowness," comments Daniel Schönecker, who is very proud of his product's typically Bavarian touch.
