Oysters have been cultivated near Dubrovnik, in the seabed of Mali Ston bay, since ancient times and consumed in honour of aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, said to have been born from a shell. We offer day trips to nearby Mali Ston bay where our family has grown oysters for generations and since 1980, has run our family restaurant Bota Šare. Sailing in a boat, enjoy the untouched natural beauty of the protected eco system of Mali Ston bay, along with the sun and the sea in which many small islets "are bathing". The entire experience also has an educational character since we gladly share our knowledge and experience about the process of cultivating oysters with our guests. Learn how to gather oysters and open them in the midst of an oyster farm, find out how to fish traditionally "under a light", pull in the nets, grill a fish and enjoy tasting it.
