Justin Rose Receives Prestigious PGA TOUR’s Payne Stewart Award presented by Southern Company

The 10-time PGA TOUR® winner was honored for his deep roots with charity and goals to make an impact

Mastercard® Golf Ambassador, Justin Rose today received one of the most honorable awards in golf – the PGA TOUR’s Payne Stewart Award presented by Southern Company. Since 2002, the PGA TOUR® and Payne Stewart Family Foundation recognize one player annually for his work with charity and demonstration of character and sportsmanship in remembrance of the late Payne Stewart.

Among many charitable endeavors, Justin and his wife Kate founded the Kate & Justin Rose Foundation in 2009 and the Orlando chapter of Blessings in a Backpack (Rose Blessings Orlando) in 2020 to fight child hunger. The PGA TOUR® reports that the Kate & Justin Rose Foundation now feeds nearly 5,000 food-insecure Orlando-based children, provides over 151,000 hunger-free weekends, and aims to serve 16,000 by 2030. Justin has also recently been at the helm of hurricane relief efforts and creating gender balance in the game of golf as the presenter of “The Rose Ladies Series,” one-off ladies professional golf tournaments organized by Justin and Kate.

“Golf has given me an incredible platform to raise awareness for important causes and make a difference in local communities and beyond,” said Justin. “I’m humbled to be the 2021 Payne Stewart Award recipient and more motivated than ever to pave a brighter future for the next generation.”

Justin has been a Mastercard Ambassador since 2017 and a supporter of the organization’s mission to “do well by doing good.” In 2021 alone, Justin participated in a variety of Priceless® Experiences from Home in which 100% of the sales went to Conservation International in support of the mission of the Priceless Planet Coalition.

“We are deeply proud of Justin’s accomplishments and thrilled that the PGA TOUR® and Payne Stewart Family Foundation have recognized his unwavering determination to make the world a better place,” said Cheryl Guerin, EVP of North America Marketing and Communications. “It has been a great fortune to work with Justin on creating experiences for cardholders that give back and we look forward to all the future has in store.”
