Alex Scott

Alex Scott MBE is a former professional footballer, presenter and broadcaster. The former Arsenal Captain and England Centurion is one of the nation’s most in demand presenters and an ambassador for Nike and Mastercard. In 2021, Alex began her new role as host of BBC’s Football Focus, the first permanent female host in its 47-year history. Alex signed with Arsenal at age 8 and stayed with the team for most of her career. Alex helped the club achieve a domestic double of the Women’s FA Cup and the FA Women’s Premier League. She also represented Great Britain at the Olympics.

 

 Since retiring in 2018, Alex has embarked upon a successful broadcasting career. In that time, Alex became a fundamental part of BBC Sport’s football broadcasting team including Football Focus, MOTD and Final Score while also joining Sky Sports for both domestic and international fixtures. Alex made history as the first female pundit on a Sky Sports’ Super Sunday and made waves as the first female to commentate for the BBC for a Men’s World Cup. In 2020, Alex joined CBS for the US coverage of the Champions League and in 2021 partnered with Clare Balding as a host of BBC One’s daily evening Tokyo 2020 Olympics highlight show “Today at the Games”. Alex is also a regular on BBC's "The One Show".  Alex is also heavily involved in charity projects, working with Premier League communities and launching the Sky Ocean Rescue and the Premier League Plastic Pollution Challenge. She also opened Alex Scott Academy in 2012 in partnership with Kingston College and Puma, the first of its kind for women in the UK.
