Play in the eOpen virtual golf tournament and win a trip to the Open 2021
Mastercard is sponsoring a first of its kind tournament with our partners The R&A and World Golf Tour by Topgolf, where players from around the world will have the chance to compete to become the eOpen champion. More digital experiences and exclusive ambassador content from the eOpen will be available on Priceless.com.
Although The 149th Open Championship was cancelled in 2020, golf fanatics can still take a virtual trip to Royal St. Georges to watch the action. Even better, they can tee off themselves — no professional golfing experience required!
This year, The R&A and Mastercard are proud to announce the first edition of the eOpen, a fully virtual tournament on WGT by Topgolf. On this free platform, all holes of the legendary course will be re-created digitally, with players from around the world able to compete to become the Champion Golfer of the Year.
This unique event will take place over the course of six weeks, starting with the qualifying rounds on Monday, July 13th. From there, 32 top-scoring players from around the world will advance to the playoffs before a champion golfer is declared at the livestreamed Finals.
There are more than just bragging rights on the line, however — one winning player from the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, and South Korea will have the chance to travel to Royal St. Georges in person for an all expenses paid trip to the Open in 2021, complete with once-in-a-lifetime experiences like an exclusive behind the scenes tour.
Even if your virtual game isn't quite up to par, you can get in on the fun by watching pro golfers and Mastercard ambassadors face off in an exhibition match. Look for details of that exciting game to be announced soon.
Exclusive golf-related digital experiences and ambassador interviews will also be available to cardholders on Pricless.com throughout the duration of the tournament. Stay tuned for updates!
