Kitzbühel Hahnenkamm Races

The Hahnenkammrennen are the annual races, held since 1931 and a fixture of the men's World Cup since its inception in the 1967 season. The race is organized by the Kitzbüheler Ski Club (K.S.C.).

The Ski Club combines the traditional winter sports club and the modern Kitzbüheler Sport Club with its ski squad. The Hahnenkammrennen was the result of the traditional Franz Reisch Memorial Race and the fascination of the modern international Kandahar Race. When in January 1931 the Franz Reisch Memorial Race was held for the first time in Kitzbühel in accordance with the Kandahar regulations, nobody could have ever guessed what a success story this combination would produce.
