LA Phil

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association was founded in 1919 and is currently led by the visionary Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, who became its eleventh Music Director in 2009. The LA Phil serves more than two million people annually through 300 classical, jazz, world music, and pop concert offerings at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl, and The Ford. In addition, the LA Phil serves approximately 100,000 children and their families through Learning initiatives each year. Specifically, the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) provides young people, ages five through eighteen, with free instruments, intensive music instruction, and opportunities to perform on stages in their communities and around the world.
