On the 72nd hole of the 1974 NCAA Championship Curtis showed how calm, cool and collected he can be under pressure by sinking an eagle to win the team championship and individual championship.
Curtis recorded victories at the 1988 and 1989 U.S. Open and the 1988 TOUR Championship. In 1983, Curtis helped Team USA win the Ryder Cup and also was the team captain in 2002.
Curtis designed The Odyssey Golf Foundation course, which provides therapeutic and recreational benefits to veterans, active military personnel, and children and adults with special needs.
In 2007, all of Curtis’ golf accomplishments were recognized when he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame .
Curtis has been a proud Mastercard ambassador since 2009.
