These include:


  • Water - Drinking water is bottled. Water for cleaning comes from water bowser delivery trucks, County water and Borehole. The hotel has a water storage capacity of about 395,000 litres in water tank sizes. Water consumption is metered.
  • Energy - Diesel is used in the back up generator. Petrol is used for powering the boat (Dingy), Gas is used for cooking. Mains electricity is used for water heating, lighting and running power equipment. Energy consumption at the Hotel and Restaurant is also monitored. This is done through generator running hours, diesel consumption, LPG consumption, and units of electricity consumption.
  • Solid Waste Management- The hotel and restaurant generates different types of wastes in both liquid and solid states. The wastes can be classified as organic and inorganic wastes.
