Ken Oringer is a James Beard Award-winning chef, restaurateur, and TV personality. In 1997, his first restaurant, Clio, was named one of Gourmet magazine's "Top 50 Restaurants in America." Over the following decade, Oringer launched Uni, a sashimi bar, and Toro, a Barcelona-inspired tapas restaurant. In April 2008, Oringer appeared on the Food Network's Iron Chef America, ultimately claiming victory in a battle with Iron Chef Cat Cora. The following year, Oringer and partner chef Jamie Bissonnette opened Coppa, an Italian-style enoteca in Boston's South End featuring Italian wines, an experimental cocktail list, and an inventive menu. The duo also debuted their first project in Cambridge-Little Donkey-in 2016.
Akira Sugimoto is the sushi chef at Uni. He has experience in some of the city's top restaurants, including the upscale Japanese restaurant O Ya.
