Ruby is longtime Boston resident and founder and owner of FreshZen a local specialty food company that makes handcrafted, all natural, healthy cooking sauces from old Chinese farmhouse recipes. Ruby also runs and leads a culinary workshop at the Boston Public Market.

The Private Culinary Tour of Boston's Chinatown with Ruby Chan was a spectacular adventure and greatly exceeded our expectations. Ruby is vibrant, energetic, vastly knowledgeable of Chinese culture and cuisine and is a wonderful teacher. The time spent dining on Chinese delicacies, visiting out of the way locations and discussing our shared experiences made for a most enjoyable experience where time simply flew by.
My favorite experience was visiting a Chinese market that I did not know existed. Experiencing all the store had to offer was amazing from the fresh vegetables to the seafood in tanks. Having lived in China previously, I felt I was back in Shanghai.
While my wife and I have been to Boston's Chinatown on several occasions over the years, we never saw or experienced Chinatown in the presence of a "Chinatown Insider" Rudy provided a deeper understanding and totally unique perspectives Chinatown. You might think you know Chinatown but after a tour with Rudy, you will be amazed at how much you will learn and experience. I highly recommend this IfOnly experience!!

The mission of The Edible Schoolyard Project is to teach essential life skills and support academic learning through hands-on classes in a one-acre organic garden and kitchen classroom. At the core of the mission is a free, sustainable, and delicious lunch for every child. The Edible Schoolyard curriculum is fully integrated into the school day and teaches students how their choices about food affect their health, the environment, and their communities. Using a local sustainable criteria for purchasing food, the organization supports not only the students but also the farmers and ranchers, who are taking care of the land for future generations. The Edible Schoolyard network now includes 4,800 schools and programs in all 50 states and 57 countries.
