Bawdy puns and pranksters have been running amok at Harvard University for over 150 years. A tradition born from America’s oldest collegiate social club, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals are world-famous for their burlesque shows, where men play both the male and female roles. Women are involved in all other aspects of the show, including authoring and producing the show. The society has sharpened the comedic chops of talents, including Rashida Jones, Tony Award winner Mark O'Donnell, and 13-time Emmy winner David Javerbaum of “The Daily Show.” This year the Pudding celebrates its 169th Theatricals Show. The group also promotes local arts with donations to Cambridge public schools.

The Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770’s philanthropic mission is to provide educational and developmental support in all aspects of the performing arts for the underprivileged, to encourage satire and comedy, and to cultivate young talent around the world. The Hasty Pudding makes a difference through three approaches - by engaging in direct service, awarding grants to individuals and organizations, and convening of like-minded organizations around special projects.
