Groot Constantia Wine Farm

Groot Constantia Wine Estate is testimony of how one man's love for wine established South Africa's first wine farm in 1685. Napoleon's favourite wine originated from "Grand Constance" which is the French translation for Groot Constantia and these wines were produced in the family Cloete Cellar behind the Manor House at this estate.

Alive in literature and legacy, the wines produced here are also a testament to the rich African soil as they are crafted to perfection.

Wander through this magnificent estate on the Visitor Route Experience and learn about the important history embodied here. The route includes exploring the original Cape Dutch Manor House, a visit to the famed Cloete Cellar and a tour of the wine museum and cultural history museum.
