I took my mother to Germany to be reunited with my deceased father’s side of the family. She had not seen them in over 10 years, and I had only met three of my relatives from his side of the family. We had a wonderful time, and a side trip to Denmark was a nice surprise! My cousins rented a beach house at the North Sea and we spent part of one day at an international sand sculpture competition. The theme was Viking and Nordic mythology, and there were entrants from many countries all over the world. The largest sculpture was probably my favorite—there were so many characters and little details. Our trip was a very memorable experience!
