All entries, whether submitted by using a MasterCard® card as described below or by mail, have an equal chance of winning. Eligibility: Sweepstakes open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. or the District of Columbia, 18 years of age or older prior to 7/1/06 except employees & their immediate families (spouses, parents, children, & siblings & their respective spouses) & those living in the same household of each of MasterCard International Incorporated (“Sponsor”), MasterCard member financial institutions (including but not limited to Juniper Financial Corporation & Juniper Bank, member of the Barclays Group; JPMorgan Chase & Co.; Citibank (South Dakota), N.A.; & KeyCorp), American Airlines, Inc., Continental Airlines, Inc., Frontier Airlines, Inc., Midwest Airgroup & U.S. Airways, Inc. (collectively “Participating Airlines”), & each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, distributors, subsidiaries, retailers, advertising/promotion agencies, & Project Support Team, Inc. (“P/S/T”) (collectively, “Released Parties”). Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, & local laws & regulations. Void where prohibited. How to Enter: Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01AM Central Time (“CT”) on 7/1/06 & ends at 11:59:59PM CT on 8/31/06 (“Promotion Period”). 1) Automatically receive (1) Sweepstakes entry for each MasterCard transaction made during the Promotion Period; 2) Automatically receive (1) additional Sweepstakes entry for each participating co-brand MasterCard card transaction made during the Promotion Period. Citibank (South Dakota), N.A. issued MasterCard cards: Citibank® / AAdvantage® Debit card, Citi® / AAdvantage® MasterCard®, Citi® Bronze AAdvantage® MasterCard®, CitiBusiness®/ AAdvantage® Card, Citi® Gold / AAdvantage® MasterCard®, Citi® Gold / AAdvantage® World MasterCard® & Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® World MasterCard®. KeyCorp issued MasterCard card: Keymiles® Debit Card; 3) Automatically receive (1) additional Sweepstakes entry for each MasterCard card transaction made during the Promotion Period at one of the following locations, each owned & operated by a Participating Airline: website, phone line, ticket counter or ticket office; 4) Automatically receive (1) additional Sweepstakes entry for each MasterCard PayPass tap transaction at a PayPass enabled merchant during the Promotion Period. For a list of PayPass enabled merchants, visit http://www.mastercard.com/mcpaypass/index.jsp. Participating Airline websites, phone lines, ticket counters & ticket offices are not PayPass enabled. As such, a maximum number of (3) automatic Sweepstakes entries can be received as a result of a single MasterCard card transaction meeting the above criteria during the Promotion Period. Account adjustment transactions/returns, PIN-based & international transactions, late payment fees, over-limit or over-draft fees, return check fees, check re-order fees, cash advances, annual fees, balance transfers &/or other fees assessed on your account are not considered eligible transactions for automatic Sweepstakes entry. Entries from unauthorized card use or made with lost, stolen, or fraudulent MasterCard cards are void. Only purchases made with a MasterCard card that is in good standing (both at time of entry & winner selection) & issued by a MasterCard member financial institution in the U.S. to an identifiable end user & that are processed & submitted through MasterCard International Incorporated's U.S. transaction processing system during the Promotion Period are eligible for automatic entry; or 5) To enter the Sweepstakes without using a MasterCard & receive (3) entries, hand print your name, complete mailing address, telephone number, date of birth, & the words "MasterCard Win 500 Flights Sweepstakes" on a plain 3" x 5" piece of paper & mail it in a sealed, stamped & hand printed #10 envelope to: MasterCard Win 500 Flights Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 16042, Bridgeport, CT 06673-6042. Enter as often as you wish by mail, but each entry must be mailed separately & received by 9/7/06. No photocopied, computer generated facsimiles, mechanically reproduced, or mass entries permitted. Your use of your MasterCard card to make a transaction &/or your submission of a 3" x 5" mail-in entry constitutes your consent to participate in this Sweepstakes & your consent for Sponsor to obtain, use, & transfer your name, address & other information for the purpose of administering this Sweepstakes. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, incomplete, illegible, late, misdirected, stolen, postage-due, or mutilated entries or mail; any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in transmission, 3rd party transaction classification, transaction processing, or communication; technical or mechanical malfunctions; failures or malfunctions of phones, phone lines, or telephone systems; errors in these Official Rules, in any Sweepstakes-related advertisements or other materials; human-processing error; failures of electronic equipment, computer hardware or software; or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by equipment, programming used in this Sweepstakes, human error, or otherwise. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void any & all entries of an entrant who Sponsor believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of this Sweepstakes. (1) Grand Prize: Winner’s selection of one of the following options: (Option 1) Up to a total of (500) round-trip airline tickets for winner & his/her family members &/or friends with a $500,000 cumulative maximum Fair Market Value. Option 1 to be awarded in the form of a $500,000 Gift Certificate issued by a travel agency of Sponsor’s sole discretion (“Gift Certificate”); or (Option 2) $500,000 awarded in the form of a check (Fair Market Value "FMV" of each Option=$500,000). Grand Prize Option 1 Transfers & Award Restrictions: If Option 1 is selected, winner may opt to receive up to $165,000 to offset his/her tax burden in the form of a check at the time of prize acceptance & the balance of the prize as a Gift Certificate valued up to $335,000. Winner must keep a minimum of (1) round-trip airline ticket for himself/herself & can transfer, without receiving compensation, any of the remaining round-trip airline tickets to a 3rd party(s) who is a legal resident of the 50 U.S. or the District of Columbia ("recipient"). If recipient is a minor, applicable airline ticket(s) will be awarded to said minor’s parent/legal guardian. Parent/legal guardian must: 1) Be 18 years of age or older prior to 7/1/06; 2) Also be a recipient; & 3) Accompany minor on applicable flight(s). Transfers (if any) are subject to Sponsor’s final approval. While Option 1 can be awarded per above specifications, winner & recipient(s) (if any) may opt to apply the total prize FMV toward any travel &/or entertainment activities provided that: 1) Final number of airline tickets awarded does not exceed (500); 2) Maximum cumulative total prize FMV of $500,000 is not exceeded & 3) All travel &/or entertainment activities selected by winner &/or recipient(s) are approved by Sponsor. Gift Certificate restrictions apply &, if any portion of Gift Certificate is unused (5) years following the date of prize acceptance, the unused balance will be awarded to the winner in the form of a check. Air transportation will be coordinated from the major U.S. airport nearest each traveler’s residence on a Participating Airline, Participating Airline affiliate partner, or, if & only as necessary, an alternate Airline to be designated by Sponsor, to the domestic or international destination of traveler’s selection. Destinations cannot be posted within the U.S. Department of State’s Travel Warnings Listing at time of booking & departure. Winner & recipient(s) (if any) must have valid passports/visas (if required) & all other required documentation prior to time of departure & are responsible for obtaining all such travel documents. Blackout dates & other travel restrictions may apply. Released Parties are not responsible for trip delays, flight cancellations, &/or other difficulties associated with travel.Prize details not specifically set forth herein are at Sponsor's sole discretion. Federal, state, & local taxes & all other expenses (including, but not limited to, transportation to/from applicable airports) not specified herein are winner’s sole responsibility. Winner Selection: Winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about 10/20/06 from among all eligible entries received by P/S/T, an independent judging organization whose decisions will be final & binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Winner will be notified by telephone &/or mail. In the event that the potential winner is selected via a MasterCard card transaction, prize will be awarded to the primary account holder (as determined by the MasterCard member financial institution’s account records & subject to said financial institution’s timely identification of the primary account holder) named on the account accessed by the MasterCard card used to make the entry &, in the event that a corporate MasterCard card winning account is selected, prize will be awarded to the individual named on the MasterCard card that is used to transact the winning entry (as determined by the MasterCard member financial institution's account records & subject to said financial institution’s timely identification of the account holder). If the awarding of the prize is in conflict with corporate written policy or not feasible after Sponsor's good faith effort to obtain account holder contact information from the applicable MasterCard member financial institution, prize will be forfeited & an alternate winner may be selected. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. Miscellaneous: Except as set forth above, no transfer, assignment, cash redemption, or substitution of prize (or portion thereof) except by Sponsor due to prize unavailability, & then for a prize (or applicable portion thereof) of equal or greater value. Winner will be required to execute & return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release & (where legal) Publicity Release within (3) days of issuance of notification. Recipients (if any &, if minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) will be required to execute & return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release & (where legal) Publicity Release a minimum of (14) days in advance of travel &/or entertainment booking. Non-compliance with any of the foregoing may result in disqualification & awarding of prize to an alternate winner. If prize notification letter is returned as undeliverable, winner will be disqualified & an alternate winner may be selected. By participating, entrants, winner & recipient(s) (if any) agree to be bound by these Official Rules & agree that: 1) Released Parties & their designees & assigns shall have the right & permission to use (unless prohibited by law) their name, voice, city/state of residence, photograph, &/or likeness for advertising &/or trade &/or any other purpose in any media or format now or hereafter known without further compensation, permission, or notification; & 2) Released Parties & their designees & assigns & all of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives & agents shall have no liability & will be held harmless for any liability, loss, injury or death to entrant, recipient(s) (if any), or any other person, including, without limitation, damage to personal or real property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize (including any travel or prize activity related thereto) or participation in this Sweepstakes.
